| One of the key functions of The Sanctuary is to provide a network for important information and action to be shared. In order to facilitate that, we have provided front page linking to time sensitive information important to the community. Members need only click the HOT TOPIC and URGENT ACTION links in the tools section to read breaking news and daily action alerts.
If you want to inform the community about an urgent action, or breaking news, you can label them as either a Hot Topic or Urgent Action. Labeling them as such will link them to the HOT TOPIC or URGENT ACTION links in the Front Page toolbox.
Simply start your diary title with HOT TOPIC: or URGENT ACTION: and make sure you use the corresponding label from the SUBJECT box at the bottom of the diary composition page.
HOT TOPIC - Use this subject to have your diary placed in the HOT TOPIC category in the front page toolbox. It should only be used for quick dissemination of time sensitive information, breaking news, or links to developments important to the community. Use this subject sparingly, it's intended to allow only the most important information to be readily available to the community with a single click... please don't abuse it.
URGENT ACTION - Use this subject to have your diary placed in the URGENT ACTION category in the front page toolbox. It should only be used for quick dissemination of time sensitive information, that must be acted on IMMEDIATELY within the next 24 hours. Use this subject sparingly, it's intended to allow only the most important information to be readily available to the community ... please don't abuse it. Unless your action must be acted upon within the next 24 hours please use the regular "Action Alert" subject instead.
These two subjects are intended to allow for quick dissemination of important information with a single click to members and viewers. Please don't use them when not appropriate. If you abuse these SUBJECT tags in an attempt to simply draw attention to your diary, you risk having it removed or deleted by administrators.
Before posting any URGENT ACTION or HOT TOPIC diary please check to make sure that the topic has not already linked to in the tools box. Having numerous diaries covering the same topic defeats the whole purpose of a "one click" list of the most urgent news or action items. |
